Mazda Motor to illuminate all-star 2010 games with green power

japan pro baseball

We see great followers of sports all across the globe, so what better way to send across a green message than games. Two all-star 2010 games organized by the Nippon Professional Baseball Association in Japan will be played under green light. Mazda Motor will provide electricity generated from renewable sources to illuminate the nighttime games.

Mazda will purchase a “Green Power Certificate” for 12,000-kilowatt hours of power and hope to reduce CO2 emissions by about 6.6 metric tons. The Fukuoka Yahoo! Japan Dome will be the privileged field to see eco-friendly lighting on July 23 for the first green powered all-star game. The second game that will be illuminated using renewable energy source will be held at the Hard Off Eco Stadium Niigata on July 24. A great way to encourage sports freaks to go green!
