If you think your love for biking could earn you a green repute, we fully agree to it. However, what do you do to your bikes when they go old? Maybe, you discard them as they have served their purpose and are of no use now. Argentine designers Natan Burta and Alejandro Sanguinetti, through their initiative Monochrome, pick those bikes up for refurbishment so as to provide them with a new look.
The entire recycling process, which involves painting with water-based inks, adding new stainless steel handles and installing a new hand-sewed leather seat, requires only 20% of the energy needed to produce a new bike. The Monochrome Recycled Bikes save hundreds of discarded bikes from adding to landfills where they were destined to rot for sure.
