Excellent design, aesthetically-appealing, multi-functional,stylish and sustainable! This is what the Red Gum Bench is all about. Can youask for something more? Well, this lovely piece of furniture by Brian Dreesmani something anyone and everyone would like to own. Commissioned for the IowaState Universitys Solar Decathlon team, the bench is made of wood that islocally sourced. The bench has been designed keeping in mind the suburbanhouses where one doesnt have a lot of space. It can be used in multiple ways.
Not only does it serve the purpose of a bench, but alsotransforms into Perhaps two chairs and two side tables or two chairs and twostools used at the kitchen table. The Design was based around the beautifulwood from the Red Gum Tree, which was locally sourced. The darkened parts ofthe bench are ebonized ash wood. The bench was crafted by cutting down the topa number of times to produce thinly slice lathes that were then woven into thefront and backs of each of the 4 parts. Its something I would personally liketo own.whats about you?
Thanks, Brian Dreesman
