The Supersonic Green Machine recently unveiled by NASA and Lockheed Martin is here to change the supersonic flight forever. The two main reasons that are believed to be behind supersonic flight unpopularity are its enormous fuel requirement and the deafening, potentially destructive sonic boom that occurs when crossing the sound barrier. This new ultra-efficient aircraft has a lower sonic boom, thanks to a new inverted-V “wing” over the tail section.
