At the CTIA Wireless 2010, NTT DoCoMo made its presence felt with the release of the Touch Wood – a mobile phone that is made from surplus wood from trees. The production of these mobile phones doesn’t involve intentional cutting of trees since wood from only those trees is used for manufacture that were “culled during thinning operations to maintain healthy forests.” Its durable cypress wood body resists water, mildew and insects as well. Moreover, it features a distinctive grain pattern and natural coloring saying a strict no to artificial colors or paints.
