Awarded with a merit prize at the 14th International Bicycle Design Competition 2009, Taichung City, Taiwan, the Oney Bike is a leisure bicycle concept that includes a folding mechanism for easy storage. Designer Peter Varga takes inspiration from the motorcycles of the 1880s as he sketches the recumbent bike on paper. The easy-to-ride-and-use-bike has two cogwheels within its frame.
As you push the bike’s seat to the front, the back wheel also moves in the same direction, which makes it possible to fold the bike with handlebars in 3-5 minutes. You would soon see it hitting the production lines.
