Recently, one of the malls was being inaugurated in Beijing and is stated that, it is the first eco friendly malls in the world. The working process was finalized in the year 2008 during the Beijing Olympics, but it was opened for the shoppers this year with some renowned brands for business. Named as Parkview green, the mall is a fully functional eco friendly design based on an area of 200,000 square feet.

The engineering of the eco friendly shopping center has been done by London based architectural firm ARUP and architecture is done by integrated design association. Some of the latest and best eco friendly features are seen in the new shopping center. Equipped with solar panels and water conservation methods, new techniques for storing the energy sources are also installed. With help of the new design, it would be beneficial for the shoppers to shop during the winter and festive season. With help of the new technique, which is known as microclimate, the temperature of the shopping center would be kept normal.

The design of the Parkview green shopping center is based on four mixed-use towers and has a platinum certification of being an eco friendly shopping center by LEED that is leadership in energy and environmental design. The design of the shopping center will take advantage of the geothermal energy along with hybrid ventilation system so that it can be set depending on the temperature. The designers of the building has stated that, it will be saving more than sixty percent of energy that is utilized in commercial offices during summers with use of air conditioners.
As winters are round the corner, Beijing hits the lowest temperature of all times. To give some relief to the shoppers during winters, high insulated collective facades has been installed in the shopping center that will trap the heat during daytime and will keep the interior warm. This will even help in saving at least eighty percent of energy, which is utilized by using warmers and blower system. Even the water storage system is based on water harvesting methods. The water that is stored during the rains will be recycled and used accordingly. In addition, the wastewater from the showers and sinks is collected and will be used to flush the toilets.

A recent reported related to Parkview green shopping center stated that, out of the eight stories, only six has been opened and made functional for use. The remaining two stories will be opened for business and shoppers during the shopping spree for Christmas and New Year. Even for the Chinese New Year which is in the month of February 2013, Parkview green will be facing a lot of rush. Parkview is offering some of the lush points for the brands like Karen Millen, Ted Baker and COS so that they can attain the maximum profits during the festive season.
Along with fabric, jewel stores and watch stores will also be there in the shopping center. Some of the renowned brands who will be opening their stores in the shopping center have stated that, it is good to have a place, which is eco friendly, as it has its own advantages. Some of the experts from the real estate industry has stated that, as this is one of the finest eco friendly shopping centers, the designs and concept will be surely taken into use all across the world.
