Philips presents an eco- friendly LED bulb to last 20 years

Philips launched a new LED light bulb and it promises to last 20 years, which is more than 25000 hours. It is a green product and it is commercially launched in stores on Earth Day. Thomas Edison’s luminous light bulb has been on the market for more than 100 years. However, it was a good quality bulb but was notorious for low energy efficiency. The reason behind this was, about 1/10 of the electrical energy that put into the bulb is actually converted into light and the rest ends up as heat- waste.

20-Year-LED-Lightbulb-2

Philips has built the new LED bulb in first price; the reason behind this was to win the U.S. Department of energy’s L Price Competition. This was the proposal brought on the table by the U.S. DoE to aware the people of the incredible incompetent luminous light bulbs, cheering them to switch to more energy saving alternatives. Philips won the prize for this in early August 2011; however, they did not release this prize-winning product on the market before 22 April, 2012.

The net price of this bulb is $60 which is several times greater than what you would have to pay for both luminous and an energy saving light bulb (CLF). The life of Philips LED bulb is 25 times greater than other light bulbs, which typically only lives around 1000 hours. If the new LED light bulb replaces the ordinary light bulb and it used approximately then $8 is saved every year in electricity cost. It is an eco-friendly product which ensures durability, power saving and will make your life beautiful. If Philip’s new LED Bulb replaces 60% of an ordinary light bulb, then US will save almost four billion dollars every year.
