Cycles are getting an overhaul with times and companies are making an added effort to make them user friendly. Bicycles are an eco-friendly way of travelling from one place to the other as it does not consume fuel. But mostly cycles come with one flaw which makes it difficult to carry infants with all the safety measures in place. Panasonic Cycle Technology Co Ltd has worked on this loophole and will soon make available bicycles namely Gyutto and Gyutto Mini, which will be power-assisted and easily carry two infants.

The child seat which is located at a low position will be wedged on the rotating shaft of the handle, which guarantees great stability. The low position also helps loading and unloading the infant in a trouble free manner. Normally when people sit, load on the bike exaggerates and when extra load in the form of infants is placed, the bicycle becomes unstable. This was one major drawback that had to be tackled. Front and rear wheels measuring 22 and 26 inches, respectively, have been fixed to the Gyutto while both the wheels of Gyutto Mini measure 20 inches. A 26 inch rear wheel in Gyutto will help the user pedal it like an everyday cycle without any difference. To bring down the gravity points, small front wheels were used which lead to enhanced stability.

The bicycle should be equally stable when brakes are applied and it comes to a hault. Normally the handle turns along with the front wheel towards one side and the cycle slants when it is parked, which leads to instability. Sutapita function utilized by the Panasonic Cycle Technology, gives bicycle the much needed stability as it robotically fixes the handle when the stand is brought into use. An additional child seat can be fixed in the rear part that has a loading platform. This will help the user carry two children and a child weighing up to 22kg can be made to sit on the rear seat. The head rest of the child seat is adjustable and can be moved up and down. If the cover gets dirty, it can be removed and cleaned easily. The cycle has been embedded with an 8Ah lithium-ion rechargeable battery which can cover a distance of 36km on a single charge. This will help the surroundings to remain in a clean and green condition.

Three power assist modes have been made available in the Gyutto and Gyutto Mini namely Automatic, Power and Eco which solve different purposes like automatically controlling assisted power, to strongly assist pedaling effort and saving power by making use of low power for assistance, respectively. Rakuraku Drive Unit in the centre rear wheel makes riding easy on a steep slope. Both the bicycles will come with a price tag of ¥132,000 (approx US$1,604, including tax).
