Ever wonder what is the favorite means of transportation for Prince Charles during his leisure? If you thought of those grandiose cars or those royal buggies, an heir of British lineage is supposed to ride, than you are wrong. The King to be, likes to pedal a bicycle when given a chance and freedom to move without any fleet of security guards. In the recently organized Start festival at his London house, Prince preferred pedaling a cycle over other technically advanced vehicles. The festival is intended to showcase various devices to people at large that can help them live in a sustainable way.
Charles was actually inspecting a series of eco friendly vehicles which included a car which runs on cheese among other vehicles but what attracted Prince most was an electric bike. As he was inspecting the bike, Prince suddenly asked the concerned person about how to start the bike and was in a wink of eye was seated on the bicycle all set to go on graveled path and grassy corners of the lawn.
The director of the bike company, Va Hua was heard saying that even he was quite surprised that prince liked the bike most and gave it a try. The bike has impressive features also. It can cover 50 miles on a single charge and it’s top speed limit is 15mph.
Many of the vehicles on display will take part in the Bridgestone eco rally from Oxford to London on Sunday, 31.7.2011. The rally will culminate at The Mall. As part of celebrations for sustainable living, the public will also be allowed to visit Prince Clarence House gardens in London free for the first time as part of the event as this garden has an eco house, few organic food stalls and much more.
