Recycled military gear become thought-provoking artifacts

As people flee the war-torn places, they keep on collecting war items while on the move. It was nothing different when the Korean War wreaked havoc on the Korean residents. They also did the same. Now, after sixty years, a Korean artist Shin Young-soo is holding a special exhibition War and Everyday Life in Seoul, where you could see no less than 300 such items turning into tools of life.

At the exhibition that is running through this Sunday, people stand a chance to see how a helmet made from fiber attached to the end of a long wooden stick was used to clean pit toilets. Equally interesting is the flat top part of a military drum that was torn off for making a traffic sign. I can bet upon anything that steel coca-cola cans and an empty hand grenade recycled into a frame for a desk lamp is something that you have never seen.

The exhibition has much more to offer than the recycled stuff discussed above.
