Richard Judd Furniture Ltd. has come out with a range of artistic green furniture that have been designed to blend with the nature. Most of the stores have an organic section these days selling items for eco-conscious people. However, when you say green furniture it is something odd even today. Recycling is slowly becoming a norm to protect our mother environment and this has compelled to have even furniture that is green.

The Designer
The furniture range is from Richard Judd Furniture Ltd where the designs of the craftsman Richard Judd come to reality. He was driven into wood craftsmanship after reading the books of Zen Buddhism. Richard Judd is basically an architecture graduate who found his passion in artistic carpentry work. So, he left his architect’s job and started working in a furniture shop. After some time he started his own furniture shop with batches of fresh students from the woodwork training centers.

Green Treasure

Zebrawood
It is an end table which has been created by gracefully bending wood into elegant forms. This shows the expertise of Judd in bending woods. The table is carefully covered in a veneer with sustainable wood and thus replicates the nature’s charm of the natural zebrawood.

Flying Console Table
This is a new classic styled furniture made using an intensive steam-bending process. This table has been designed by Judd to depict the undulating waves in the wind. The wood is supported on a stainless steel base that has been patterned to complement the rich wood grain. He has also matched the pommele sapele veneer on all surfaces of the ply base made of birch. The dimension of the glass top is 14” W X 56” L with a table base of 30” H X 12” W X 48” L size. It has been priced at $3,600.

Half Moon Shelf
It is a demilune wall shelf made from pommele sapele veneer. The shelf gets it support from an arc of dark wenge wood. Mounting hardware are invisible and give an exquisite look to this shelf. Its dimensions are 22” H X 22” W X 11” D and is priced at $1,200

Oval Mirror

Oval shaped mirror has been placed in an elegantly curved frame. The frame is given a dramatic touch with the use of pommele Sapele’s grains. The veneers are carefully matched in such a way that the grains appear to radiate from the mirror’s center. The dimension of this mirror is 36” H X 22” W X 2.5” D and is priced at $800 along with the hardware.

Spiral Coffee Table
This has been the best seller since its creation at the furniture shop. Dark African wenge edges are used to give a glossy dappled spiral look. Pommele sapele veneer has been placed over the luan plywood with half an inch thick glass top that has a smooth rounded edge. The Spiral Coffee Table is available at a price of $2,400.

The Fab Factor
Ribbon chairs made from bubinga base and kewazinga veneer neatly covering the birch bending plywood have an exquisite look.
• There is a long arc shelf which is made from a narrow sweep of solid American poplar. It has been given a dark rosewood dye and clear varnish to give its elegant look.
Side arch table comes in either pommele sapele veneer or kewazinga veneer finish. The veneer is edged with tapered strips of dark wenge with a rounded and smooth edged glass top.
