Scientists use cigarette butts to keep steel from rusting

Despite numerous attempts to eradicate a social evil that not only ruins health, but is also a hazard to the environment, we still find many ignorant faggers smoking away to glory. Though fag reduces to ashes, it causes its share of damage with the smoke and of course the cigarette butts. Estimates claim that nearly 4.5 trillion cigarette butts are added to our planet’s ecosystem yearly. Researchers from China’s Xi’an Jiaotong University have come up with an excellent way to deal with the problem.

The team claims to use the cigarette butts to make a brilliant rust inhibitor. They first searched garbage bins and roadways for butts, which were then soaked in distilled water. The water extract then went into a hydrochloric acid solution, and applied to discs made from N80 steel. The final result, the treated discs were outstandingly resistant to rust. The team claims that the extract concentration can help in making the discs up to 94.6% rust resistant.
