Shards from recycled wine bottles used to create green human skull

mosaic human skull made with green recycled glass

Who said the human anatomy is not complex? The fact has been reinforced yet again by artist Matthew Alexander. Not only is his creation a piece of complex art, it is also green in the making and of course, in color. The use of recycled material is one point worth mentioning for the product.

Alexander has created a life size plaster human skull out of recycled old wines bottles. Using shards of broken glass, he has converted the discarded wine bottles into something meaningful, and to some extent, trendy.

As it’s said, nothing is a piece of cake; the artist also had to go through some rough edges, literally, to create his masterpiece. He ran the pieces of glass through a rock tumbler in order to smoothen out the rough edges, while ensuring to give the glass pieces a ‘sea glass’ luminescence. Further, to enhance the color of the pieces, he put some aluminum paper to give them the desired shine. The teeth have been painted copper, and they stand out in a funky manner.

You can expect the dimensions to be somewhere around 7 inches in height, 6 inches in width and around 8 inches in depth. The shipping should take around 5 days or so. The product has been conveniently priced and is green all the way. The Green skull is available for a price of $250 (plus shipping charges) and only 1 piece is available in stock.
