The eco-friendly building that is designed with an intention to behave as the Chinese culture center in Paris was amongst the few that received a special mention in the 2010 eVolo skyscraper competition. Dubbed as the “Vertical Confluence”, the skyscraper will house over the Confluence of la Seine and la Marne. Designed by Y-studio’s designers Jiang Yuan and Xu Yang, the structure is a portrayal of drastically rethought urban space.
The skyscraper is thought to be a beautiful amalgamation of historical elements and contemporary style. It has three frames that represent three rivers trends from the site, one to the center of Paris, another to the east, while the third to the south-east of Paris. The high-rise building is designed to have three different portions. The bottom portion of the tower has an auditorium that faces the theater outside, offering a showcase to both inside and outside.
Facing Paris’s biggest green space, the “bois de Vincennes”, we have the middle part that houses a library. The top of the skyscraper flaunts a museum that has the beautiful sky view as the backdrop. Surrounded with a public green space and a sport center it is expected to become a landmark.
