Most of the time it’s the US west coast making headlines on clean drive initiative, however, this time it’s the East. The state of Tennesse got its first solar EV charging station developed by US electrical products manufacturer Eaton in collaboration with the Tennessee Valley Authority and the nonprofit Electric Power Research Institute.
Dubbed as Smart Modal Area Recharge Terminal (SMART) the charging station is seen as a major step towards development of clean fuel for electric vehicles in the state. The station will provide all vital statistics related to solar energy generated and stored, energy consumed, and also the potential impact of load clusters suring multiple vehicle recharging.
