The expensive, polluting, overcrowded and delayed public transportation is forcing people to use their own vehicles for commuting. Aiming at re-establishing a link between nature, public transport and Helsinki’s residents is the “AirFLOW”. Conceptualized by Finnish designer Lukas Medeisis, the hovercraft-type vehicle is perfect to move over Helsinki’s frigid undulated terrains covered with frozen ice. The hybrid vehicle sports two solar-powered electric engines placed in front under the steering propellers that get juiced by transparent solar modules on the laminated polycarbonate roof.
The AirFLOW lets people enjoy a beautiful relationship with Mother Nature by simply shifting public transportation from city center to the coastline. The LED front and rear lamps provide safety at night, while a large storage space allows for easy storage of bicycles. It features sliding glass doors on either side, which offer a mesmerizing view of the surroundings. This green, futuristic transportation envisioned for the year 2020, offer daily commuters resplendent views of the long forgotten coastline as they commute every day.
