Chicago-based designer Wanda Cobar, who is passionate about designing unique and one of a kind items, has come out with stunning attire and amazing bags from nothing but trash. Her “Trash Bag Garment” designed for the Necessary Taboo Show held at the Creative Lounge that challenged 14 designers to create either a garment or piece of art inspired by a taboo. Based on taboo dumpster and inspired by Marie Antoinette, the attire consists of a corset, a shrug, a skirt and a petticoat.
The corset is made using 100% cotton fabric, black trash, Doritos bags and fruits shapes cut out of aluminum soda cans, while the shrug is made of black trash bags with strips of Doritos bags. The skirt fashioned from 100% black trash bags along with a wig decorated with flowers made from black trash bags and Jimmy Johns Sandwich Wrappers completes the look. The stylish bags are made from 100% cotton handwoven Guatemalan fabric that is enhanced with a funky flap hand cut from magazines, which is covered in vinyl for extra protection.
