Artists always find unconventional mediums to redefine art. One such creative head is 57-year-old artist Jean Zaun, who creates stunning paintings using chocolate and food coloring. She was always passionate about oil painting, but working in her family’s chocolate shop, in downtown Lebanon, Pennsylvania she never got enough time to fulfill her passion. So, she decided to gratify the art bug in her by bringing her work and art together. She now reproduces famous paintings like Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Vincent Van Gogh’s Self Portrait, or Edvard Munch’s The Scream, and also creates her own original works using white, dark and milk chocolate, food coloring, sugars and confectionery glaze.

These actually edible masterpieces are not a treat for your stomach, but your eyes. She takes nearly five days to make the painting and its chocolate frame. Her innovative artworks sell out for up to $1,440. Many museums across America have these one-of-a-kind art pieces on display. She claims that every painting is kept and cherished as a keepsake.
