Each and every single being is participating in every program that contributes in saving the earth by going green and using the renewable sources of energy in every way we can. HyBrid Architecture, a Seattle based firm has built a Sunsetâs idea house or what they term as Cargotecture from recycled cargo containers and the power required in the house is all solar based.
The Sunsetâs idea house was recently exhibited at aCelebration Weekend in Menlo Park. The house so built acquires a little space of 192 sq feet but have enough space to accommodate four people comfortably. The house is in all solar powered, with all kinds of modern amenities in the kitchen like wooden counters and simple, functional cabinets. There is a mini bathroom too that features a dual-flush toilet, Duravit sink, and ceiling-mounted shower. The Sunset house also consists of a sofa and a fold-down bed. The structure of the house is built from a nine year old shipping container which was a waste for other people. But designers Robert Humble and Joel Egan breathed a new life in the small shipping container while turning it into a small house. This small modern home is a symbol of creativity from waste inspiring many people go green. The Cargotecture also gives a simple message of being creative and make use of the discarded materials in every possible way. The Sunset house has made use of solar energy â a renewable source of energy, which is another green factor.
This is an era of environmental conscious people. Each and every single being is participating in every program that contributes in saving the earth by going green. People are now realizing that if we all produce garbage, we are all part of the problem then we can also be part of the solution. Instead of throwing away items we no longer need, we can make sure they find their way to the next stage in their life cycle. The three R’s – reduce, reuse and recycle – all help to cut down on the amount of waste we throw away. They conserve natural resources, landfill space and energy. The waste will no longer be a waste if we can reduce the amount of waste we produce in the first place or reuse an item or find someone who can use it or even recycle the product so that our valuable natural resources are used again and again. Talking about the renewable energy source like solar power used in the above mentioned case, we will actually harness the energy that we get for free and also save the environment from getting polluted.
