The last few years have seen immense growth in the use of adult diapers in Japan. Although the diapers offer comfort to the aging population, they certainly come with their share of unpleasantness. All of these are diverted to landfills or reduced to ashes, ruining the environment. With the goal of preventing these diapers from harming the planet, Super Faith, a Tokyo firm, is here with its SFD Recycle System.

Taking help from this new machine Super Faith is turning used adult diapers into fuel. What the machine does is, it shreds, dries and sterilizes disposal diapers into a bacteria-free fuel pellet material that can be used for heating. Two of these magical machines have already been installed in a western Tokyo hospital. The hospital process nearly 1,400 pounds of used diapers daily. It is claimed that the pellet material contains 5,000 kcal of heat per kilogram. The resultant product can be used in biomass boilers and stoves.
