There are still seven months left for the Taipei In’l Flora Expo to begin. Where you would see various pavilions at the design expo, an ark-shaped pavilion built from 1.5 million recyclable plastic PET bottles has already taken shape and it was unveiled Wednesday. Hailed as ‘the world’s lightest, movable, breathable environmental miracle’, the EcoARK pavilion is a 130-meter, nine-story pavilion that endorses the concept of environmental conservation.

The developer Far Eastern Group shelled out NT$300 million to bring the eco-structure into being. The transparent bottles were specially processed to provide insulation and protection from the wind, sun and rain. The building can withstand strong typhoons and earthquakes. After the expo concludes, the pavilion will be dismantled for future use.
