Turkish researchers build first solar powered vehicles

adyaman researchers build first solar powered vehi

Researchers at the Technology University Adiyaman, Turkey, have built a solar powered car and a minibus after spending more than two years in sketching and theorizing their renewable-energy-powered vehicles. A 322 watt-solar panel powers each vehicle to speed up to 50 km/hour with an impressive 60-70 km range.

The car named “Fırat Force 01” will be used as a staff car, whereas the minibuses called “02 Commagene” will serve as a patient transfer vehicle. Both automobiles are designed for intercity travel. When the mass production begins, the costs of these vehicles will be no higher than 5-6 thousand TL (US$4,045).
