Going green and being eco-friendly is the order of the day, no matter what we do. We’re making efforts to switch to alternative energy forms, and conserve natural resources everywhere we go. But why not start from the basics? Why not forget about greenhouse gas emissions for a minute and focus on going green in simpler aspects of life. Like clothing.

That’s exactly what Urban Renewal, a sub-division of Urban Outfitters aims to do. As the name suggests, “Renewal” is a focus on going green and re-using waste materials, to create wearable, and most importantly, fashionable clothing. Take, for instance, the vintage design Shangri La dress, priced at $59, which makes use of dead-stock and surplus fabrics from the textile industry. You can tell from the photographs that these dresses are more than wearable, and would easily pass off as a trendy clothing and most pubs and night-clubs. That’s a great tradeoff, isn’t it? Looking great and helping saving the environment at the same time?
