This amazingly detailed hot bike is the work of the two Bjorkland brothers – Carl and Mark – from Washington, US., made by putting together salvaged material. It all started with their purchasing of a junk 1966 Harley Davidson XLCH years back for a good $900. The bike was initially being built in a Bobber style which was later modified to a cafe style – and the whole project was scrapped and started afresh.
Later came the gas tank which was made on the lines of a fiberglass Manx-style tank and made out of scrap metal. The entire bike has been created from bits and pieces reused from a scrap yard. Some pieces were too small and it was quite a tedious task to weld them together. The end result is nevertheless amazing – the hot bike ‘War Crimes’ (the name is out of Mark’s fascination with airplanes and the military). The bike might appear to be a little uncomfortable as far as seating is concerned, but one ride of this black beauty and you will come to know how lightweight and smooth it is.
Metal scrap is something that is leading to our over-spilling landfills. It is important to utilize metal in some way by reusing or recycling it into something useful. ‘War Crimes’ is a great example of how expensive Harley Bikes can be affordable by reusing old parts to create an amazing bike that can reduce our carbon footprint and save our landfills to get overloaded.
