When clouds snow ice cream…

When design-interaction students Zoe Papadopoulou and Cathrine Kramer at London’s Royal College of Art replicated the cloud-producing exhalations of open-ocean algae into their project, snowflakes containing ice cream pounded over the heads of the bystanders. Dubbed as the Cloud Project, it featured some roof-mounted cannons firing to disperse ice cream ingredients that made the clouds snow ice cream. Well, don’t you think it is an ingenious application of aerosolized nanotechnology?

As BLDG BLOG states it:

But it’s worth asking what other foodstuffs might also be made to precipitate directly from the summer sky—when agriculture gives up the ghost, say, or once our planetary soils have been entirely depleted, could we someday farm the sky? Aerocultural precipitation: nutrition fresh and direct from the planet’s atmosphere.

If the determination to make something happen is there, nothing is impossible. What do you say?
