Some very revealing photographs taken by researchers at the Big Bear Solar Observatory shows some sunspots on the sun’s visage that have appeared of late. These dark spots make researchers at the Paris Institute of Geophysics in France gather that the length of days on our planet will soon face some infinitesimal changes. The changes are also the direct results of an 11-year solar cycle.
The solar spots are believed to affect Earth’s wind patterns by altering the ultraviolet light hitting the Earth, which heats the stratosphere. All these revelations could be figured with the help of Big Bear’s New Solar Telescope (NST). It is a precursor to the Advanced Technology Solar Telescope (ATST) that awaits manufacture in a decade.
