Intermittent charging hassles and low mileage over long drives are the major reason why eco friendly electric cars fall short of becoming popular choice. This also explains the need for electric charging stations. GE took the lid off its latest charging station called the Wattstation, designed by Yves Behar’s Fuse project. The charging station has been specifically worked out in a manner that it gets easily spotted and used as well.
Presenting itself as an interesting addition to EV infrastructure, the charging station’s LED indicator ring around the top edge turns green when the charging point is available, red when it’s not and blue when it’s in use. The customizable design has a sloping top edge to shed all the rainwater and snow.
Most importantly the station has great power output and takes just 4 hours to recharge your car instead of 12-16 hours it takes with today’s “Level 1” chargers.
