OPEL EWOL: Augustin Barbot envisions energy revolution for eco-conscious riders

Looking like coming out of a science fiction magazine, the “OPEL EWOL” is a concept motorcycle that is certainly ahead of its time. Designed by Augustin Barbot, the electric motorcycle generates power from four different forms of renewable energy sources. This wild bike gets power from an energy suit worn by the rider that harvests up to 1KW energy from users body heat and movement. 20W comes from shock absorbers placed just below the seat, while the steering adds 1 to 5W to the total energy.

In addition, the rear wheel generates 50W, pedaling generates an addition 200W, onboard solar cells produce up to 400W, and kinetic tires collect up to 20W of power. Well, you look stunned already. There are still a few additions to the list, the futuristic bike sports an HPA (Hydraulic Power Assist) tank that saves up to 80 percent of the deceleration energy and braking wind turbines that produce 10W of clean electrical power. All this energy is utilized to keep 2KW gulping electric engine and 1.6KW guzzling digital display functional. This stunning looking bike is sure to heat up the green vehicle market
