How does his USB bike generator work? It functions simply by placing a rotating wheel perpendicular to the rear wheel of the bike with a heavy spring. The mini-wheel turns a stepper motor to produce a charge, which is then smoothed out by an in-line rectifier. Whenever his gadgets run out of power, all he does is, he puts them into the carrying rack and attaches them to the 5V USB plugs situated under his seat.
