A recent study conducted by the Russian space agency Roscosmos reveals that China has contributed 40 percent of the debris to space until date. Most of it is attributable to the Chinese military, which, in 2007, tore apart a defunct weather satellite to add some 2,800 pieces of free-flying shrapnel to space debris.

While United States follows China with a 27.5 percent benefaction, Russia enjoys a comfortable third spot with its 25.5 percent shares. Collectively, these three big space powers have polluted Earth’s outer space with 93 percent of space debris. It’s a real big reason to worry about. What do you say?
