Green Prefabs by SMPLy Mod: The best housing plan

For those who wish to get a home in the easiest way possible, the best option would be to go for a prefabricated home. For those who have come in late, a prefab home is manufactured in advance, off site as modular units. These units are then shipped to the site and the home is constructed in a jiffy. Post-modernistic and futuristic architecture often inspire the looks and feel of these homes. Canada based SMPLy Mod has come up with its first ever prefab home.

Green Prefab

Simply called as the Model 984, this prefab has been built on a concrete pier foundation that has been specially engineered. It measures 984 square feet in area and houses two large bedrooms and a bathroom. Corrugated steel and concrete have been utilized elegantly to form the siding of the home. The interiors, on the other hand, have been fabricated with bamboo floors and furnished with fixtures from Kohler and Moen. The use of bamboo is a good thing because it is light, ‘green’, durable and pleasing to the eyes. An ambiance of warmth gets created with bamboo.

A R38 floor system which measures 2 x 10 and R22 walls measuring 6 x 2 have been constructed along with an 18″ r50 parallel-chord truss-roof. The whole construction has been made in an economical manner and the home is yours for $135,000. That is what we call a cool and neat deal!
