One could argue that the time has come to throw away your typewriters and graduate to the age of computers. While that holds true for the most part, perhaps “throwing away” isn’t the best option. You should probably give your old typewriter to Jeremy Mayer and have him build you a figure of your grandfather with the old parts!

Yes, this is true; alternative art taken to another level, while recycling more or less useless hardware in the process. Jeremy Mayer’s typewriter art is ridiculously cool, as he creates works of art (primarily animal and human figures) by disassembling typewriters and putting them back together in a manner that they were clearly not intended to be! There’s a lot of gluing, welding and soldering involved, but the end product is quite splendid, as you can see from the video below. It’s really, really, innovative and something we’d definitely want to put in our living rooms.
