Every iPhone owner has one complaint – that the iPhone’s sound output is very low. Be it during a phone conversation or while listening to music or watching videos, the sound always remains low. And you wish you could amplify the sound somehow. I’ve seen a few friends searching the Internet for apps and devices that would amplify the sound on their iPhone devices. Well, the wish is now fulfilled, thanks to the folks at En & Is Design, who have finally come up with a solution that might make a lot of iPhone users very happy.
MegaPhone, designed by an Italian company En & Is Design, is an analog solution – which means it doesn’t require any sort of energy input. It reminds me of a bullhorn and the very first time I encountered it and an iPhone on top of it, I thought it was for showcasing the item. I never thought it was to amplify the sound on my iPhone. It feels as if a long-held desire has finally been fulfilled. Not only this, it also comes with a pinch of green. It has a beautiful wooden base that adds to the aesthetics.
Though the design is very retro-looking, it isn’t cheap equipment. It is has ceramic finishing and looks quite grand too. It comes with a wooden stand, which, according to its designers, would amplify the vibrations in the MegaPhone and thereby, would increase its output. All you need to do is just place your iPhone on the top of the device and the sound comes out amplified through the sea shell-shaped horn.
This may not be useful during a call, but works great while listening to music. It’s an elegant solution – one which requires no energy to power it! On the other hand, if you are really serious about great quality of sound and amplification, you could buy some killer earphones or speaker sets. Though the iPhone blows its own trumpet in all other aspects, it had to seek the help of a trumpet in the end, to make itself audible and effective.
