Philips has recently introduced a new TV to the market that merges entertainment with sustainability. Dubbed the “Econova,” this 42-inch LED television comes with a solar-powered remote. This time the company has one an extra mile to make the new product as green as possible. Using the latest LED lighting technology, the TV operates on just 46 watts of power, which is nearly the same amount as a mid-sized incandescent light bulb.

The Econova is made from recyclable materials and incorporates “power-wise”, a “0 Watt” switch that doesn’t let the TV suck power like most modern electronics, instead it shuts down TV to save power. Everything from the sourcing to packaging is green. Coming at a price of some $1,880, the Econova is that one TV you always waited for.
