Who wouldn’t their workplace to be just a few steps away from their home. Not only will it be more convenient, but also less tiring, cheaper and safer for the environment. We have a huge global population commuting to work every day, adding enormous amount of carbon emissions to the environment. Chris Sneesby has come up with an innovative idea of getting the public to work from home to reduce their carbon footprints and save their pocket. He has created “Archipod”, a small sustainably-built garden office.

The cute looking prefabricated pod is made using timber. Sneesby choose timber as the construction material because it light and easy to work with, insulates well, doesn’t suffer from the condensation problems and also gives a sheen look. Spherical in shape, the Archipod includes features like electric heating, power sockets and a hinged roof that maximizes natural sunlight and ventilation. It also includes an ergonomic semicircular desk, external cladding using Western Red Cedar Shingles and a gas strut assisted gullwing door. This beautiful garden office takes just about 4 to 5 weeks to complete.
