Inspired by Zhang Zerui’s scroll painting Riverside Scene during the Qingming Festival, Qin Shiping, a local from Tangshan’s Fengrun district, decided to create an exclusive view of China by using nothing but clay. Since his childhood, Qin has worked as a sculptor and a painter. He was struck with the idea of recreating Zhang Zerui’s painting in clay back in 2005, but it was only in 2008 that the dream shaped into reality. This one-of-a-kind cultural park consisting of sculptures made entirely of clay was recently opened for general public. These amazing works of art are a proof of Qin’s skills, passion, and dedication. The brilliant idea not only made the country a proud owner of something exceptional, but also encourages people to take up green practices.
