Panasonic and Sanyo have launched the Everleds Lithium-ion Solar Street Light that produces 15 hours of light during night on a day’s charging. The street light combines solar cells and lithium-ion batteries (attached to the back of the panel) for harnessing and storing solar energy. The manufacturer will release two versions of the streetlight in Japan in January 2011.
The Li-ion solar street light touts a lead-free design to lessen its overall footprint. The lights are just perfect for illuminating schools, parks, streets, housing complex and public outdoor facilities.
