Miniature printer prints big ideas

New technology has enabled the download of information onto the palm of your hand with the introduction of high-tech mobile phones, iPads and more. While surfing the net is easy and efficient, printing the information leads to a lot of wastage of paper and time. If you want to print a small area of data, a whole page is swallowed up and spit out with only the corner being used. Not to mention the time spent on waiting for half a page of blank paper. For those who prize efficiency and paper conservation, the Little Printer from BERG is the best solution. BERG is a London-based design consultant firm specializing in product invention. The Little Printer is slated to be unveiled and available for pre-order in 2012; there is no mention of price.

The Little Printer

The Little Printer may appear cute and could be mistaken for a novelty item with its cube-sized smiling face and cartoonish feet, but it is truly a handy device to have around. The thermal printer is cloud powered and will print any informative item for you. If you want to print a personalized mini-newspaper, the Little Printer will do it. Other than that, it will print out your schedule, lists or a favorite puzzle. With this printer you can even print a quote for the day and fit it into your wallet to remind yourself to be positive or share it with friends, family and colleagues.

BERG has partnered with The Guardian, Foursquare and Facebook to allow users to subscribe for daily news updates, daily puzzle and similar topics of interest, which can be printed in nice receipt-like paper. For those interested in regular news updates, the Little Printer is endowed with an Android and iOS app for users to configure the printer to print wirelessly print subscriptions.

To print out RSS feeds, simply connect the printer to your router, decide on what you want to print and then, press the print button. The Little Printer is hooked up wirelessly to a small box attached to your router. The box interfaces with the Berg cloud (soon to be released) to provide constant updates and grab the selected web content. The Little Printer is the first product to connect to the Berg Cloud, a new technology system.

The Little Printer is an invention offering great service and will soon grow to be an integral part of everyday communication.
